Halal Certification
The Services offered by the BHCC W.L.L include; setting genuine Halal standards, certifying companies who volunteer to integrate Halal standards within their organizational systems, auditing and supervising certified companies and products to ensure proper devotion to the specifications of the standards and consulting and aiding in the implementation of standards within willing company’s and entities to fulfil their goals and objectives.
BHCC standard is an adoptive Whole Supply Chain Halal Standard. The certification scheme is based on established principles of an Identity Preservation (IP) System. This means that the source of the product is verified as Halal and this identity is preserved and verified at each stage of the supply chain. Whole supply chain certification is a unique feature of the BHCC Halal Standard and is seen as vital in a modern food processing system where Halal and Haram products may share the same commercial environment. Certainly, this leads to a risk of cross-contamination; the BHCC Halal Standard modules specifically deal with the issue of cross-contamination.
BHCC standard has a definitive view of Islamic Shariah law, ‘Halal’, meaning pure and lawful, and ‘Haram’, meaning forbidden and unlawful. BHCC certified products must, therefore, meet national food safety legislation as well as Islamic Shariah law. It is for this reason that the BHCC Halal Standard encompasses issues of food safety and hygiene (where applicable, method of slaughter).
